ABOUT ABOUT

In 1998, a curator at the Firelands Historical Society in Norwalk, Ohio stumbled upon the skeletal remains of a curious creature in the museum’s storage. Join Firelands Archaeology as we welcome Dr. Brian Redmond and follow the trail of the mysterious discovery from identification, analysis and on to some startling revelations that changed our understanding of the area’s prehistory!

Dr. Redmond is the John Otis Hower Chair and Curator of Archaeology at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History.  He has devoted much of his career to the archaeology and study of prehistory in Northern Ohio, conducting considerable research and publishing extensively on the intriguing evidence of occupation from over 3,000 years ago found at several archaeological sites located throughout northern Ohio.

Dr. Redmond also serves as the Director of Firelands Archaeology and can be found enjoying the company of his family and grandchildren when not knee deep in a site trench.

Our lecture will be held overlooking the shore of beautiful Lake Erie at the Vermilion-On-The-Lake Clubhouse and will include light appetizers, dessert, and non-alchoholic beverages. Guest may bring their own wine and beer.
